Ever since I read (listened to) the Sweet Potato Queens Book of Love, I have been dying to try Pig Candy. Well, luckily, I got to try it out first hand at the SPQ Million Queen March Weekend......it was everything I had dreamed it would be. While reading (and listening to, just because it's soooo much more entertaining hearing it all in HRH Queen Boss Jill's own voice) the Sweet Potato Queens Big Ass Cookbook and Financial Planner, I came up with the clever idea of doing a blog just like Julie Powell did with the Julia Childs recipes. So here we go.....follow my progress as I attempt to whip up each of the tried, true and tested recipes loved by the SPQ.

Another SPQ Recipe Success

It has been almost 3 months since I started my "Jamie/Jill Big Ass Cookbook Project". I've now managed to make 16 recipes out of the 88 that are included in the book - The Sweet Potato Queens' Big-Ass Cookbook (and Financial Planner).
Bacon 'n' Eggs, Queen Style - a breakfast dish that can be made the night before so you can just wake up, pop it in the oven for 30 minutes and enjoy. Oh, I will be making this one again!.......it is sort of like........Eggs Benedict for a crowd.

Here it is served up over a toasted croissant but any bread will do, even those yummy biscuits out of the can. Of course, true eggs benedict style would be served over a toasted english muffin. But you serve it up however you please......just hurry up and serve it.......it is good, good, good!
